Grasslands are made up of mostly grasses and a few trees. There are two types of grasslands temperate grasslands, also known as prairies and the savannah. Prairies have hot summers and cold winters with rainfall all year. The savanna covers half of Africa's continent and has hot or warm climate all year. Prairies are in midwest America. Some animals you will find in the savanna are zebras, giraffes, hippos and lions. Some animals you will find in the prairie are prairie dogs and bison.
