A swamp is a forested aquatic system. This means that a swamp is normally surrounded by a variety of trees. Swamps are made up of fresh water, they are still and they are murky (brown). In a swamp the soil is very rich with nutrients, there are a variety of trees such as cypress, moss, and shrubs. The animals that you can find are shrimp, tadpoles, alligators, snakes, crocodiles, cranes (birds) and fish.
